My name is Angela Terlesky and many of my friends just call me "Ang." I was born and raised in Michigan but cold and gray winter weather is the reason
that I moved and now live in Arizona. I consider myself a sun worshiper and love the outdoors where it's warm. Arizona allows me to enjoy activities outside like hiking and spending valuable time with my boyfriend and our friends.I have always been the athletic type and my life has always been filled with activity. Gymnastics, dance and diving were my passions while I was growing up but I chose massage therapy for a career. I am happiest when keeping busy and challenged. That's probably why the gym and figure competitions have become my new passion. I found myself working out in the gym with a friend of mine on a dare. We had actually started a bet on who could obtain a six-pack first and with my friend being a male it made the challenge that more intense. My competitive nature got the best of me and this was one challenge I was going to give my all. (I won, by the way!!!!!) From that day on I was hooked on working out. I find it a great place to release pent-up anxieties and a place to work through a lot of what life throws at me.
Over a period of time a trainer and I decided to swap services and he helped me with training in hopes of building a clientele. He suggested figure competitions so we decided to give a competition a try and entered my first competition in July of 2005 in Flagstaff, Arizona. I took third place in my class. I then went to the NPC championship competition of Arizona in 2005 and I took first in my class, which qualified me for Nationals! These two competitions added fuel to the fire and sparked my interest even more. I went on to the Contra Costa show in California in 2006 and took another first in my class.
My fourth competition was the USA's in Las Vegas during July of 2006 where I was awestruck with earning my pro card! What an awesome experience it has been. Since earning my pro card I have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic photographers and have met so many interesting people. I have had the opportunity to learn so much and it has opened the door for me to want to learn so much more.
I truly hope to continue to excel with my career in the nutrition and health field. I'm currently working directly with Prolab Supplements, promoting products which I believe in and personally use. I am a believer of natural remedies and healing. As a massage therapist, my job is rewarding in that I am in the position to help people who are not experiencing optimal health. The most important aspect and necessity in my life is that I need to be a productive, useful person. It's important for me to be there for other people as they have been there for me. I guess it is my way of giving back for all of the blessings that I have received.At the present time I am training and getting ready for a full year of pro competitions. I am looking forward to having a great time and more new experiences. I have to tell you that I find myself feeling so blessed. I am so fortunate and grateful to have had a supportive family and friends who have helped me tremendously throughout my life. ~Angela~
